K-Corp Annual Sohour

K-Corp held its annual sohour on March 8 in Jeddah, which was filled with lively vibes, bringing together over 80 from the Jeddah and Riyadh teams across all 11 companies. The crisp night air was filled with laughter and melodious live oud, and the traditional jillab and tamarind servers entertained the crowd. The photo booth provided by Shortcut was a big hit with everyone as they lined up to take group and couple photos. MiKS catered the night and dazzled everyone with their new Ramadan display and delicious food. Hats off to Sarya for putting the whole thing together and making it a night to remember!

Conflicts At Work

We’ve all been through having to deal with conflicts at work, be it with colleagues, customers, or bosses, and Ramadan can sometimes make it even more so. Here are 5 tips to help you in navigating conflicts:

1. Don’t let it get to you - Stay out of it emotionally and concentrate on listening non-defensively and actively. People make harsh and emotional comments when they’re upset.

2. Really Listen - Give them your full attention and focus on really listening to what the problem is.

3. Acknowledge and Apologize - Acknowledge your part in the misunderstanding, as it usually is a misunderstanding, and apologize for it. Nothing calms down a person in a disagreement more than a heartfelt apology.

4. Empathize - Empathy isn’t about agreement; it’s about accepting what the other person is saying and feeling. Of course, this must be genuine; otherwise, they will feel it.

5. Connect - By including yourself in the picture, putting yourself in the other person’s shoes, and voicing your opinion, you build a base on which you both agree, which then leads to problem resolution.

Nearly all conflicts are misunderstandings, and with understanding and empathy, all can be resolved.
