Founding Day Celebration

K-Corp celebrated Founding Day on February 20 at its head office in Jeddah. The festivities were filled with laughter, food, and familial vibes as people dressed in traditional Saudi attire and shared traditional delicacies, like the innovative kaak ma’soub provided by MiKS. At the end of the day, everyone left with their own personalized mugs that Shortcut made.

Individualism At Work

While the word individualism can have negative connotations in different settings, especially at work, it can also mean great things when approached correctly. On the one side, an individualistic person can be selfish and egotistical, which is detrimental in a work setting, but on the other side, it can mean being free to be yourself, express yourself, and to be self-reliant, all traits that are extremely valuable in a company. So, to draw the line between good and bad individualism at work, here are three tips to be aware of:

1. Be yourself, but don’t overstep boundaries - Everyone has the freedom to be however they want to be, but when your actions infringe on the feelings and limits of others, that’s where your freedom ends.

2. Be self-reliant, not selfish - You want to shine at work and get the credit and recognition for what you do and how you do things, but let others also have their way and listen to constructive criticism when it’s due. It’s a give-and-take situation in a team.

3. Express yourself and use it to empower others - Let your uniqueness shine and encourage colleagues to be the best versions of themselves. This will bring out the best in everyone involved.

Yes, there’s no “I” in “team”, but each person’s individual traits and talents are what make a team superb.
