SPOTLIGHT ON…

Every week, we shine the spotlight on one of the wonderful people who make up K-Corp to get to know each other better. This week’s spotlight is on AbdulRahman Boaihel, OPS Support Services Manager

1. Married? Kids? Siblings? How many?
Yes, I’m married with three kids. Siblings, three also.

2. How do you spend your time after work?
Playing Call of Duty on the PlayStation! And spending time with family, of course.

3. What’s your favorite pastime/hobby?
Playing PlayStation and traveling. Traveling is the most important thing for me. I love traveling!

4. One quirky/interesting thing to know about you?
I have a shopping addiction! I love clothes shopping, and it’s the first thing I do every month with every paycheck: I go shopping at Red Sea Mall.

5. Your favorite aspect/thing about the job/company?
My favorite thing about the job is the friendly company culture we have; everyone is so friendly.

6. Your least favorite aspect about the job/company?
Complaints! I don’t like that there are a lot of complaints from everyone, and that shouldn’t be the case.

7. Your one piece of advice for work/workplace?
To get things done and finished daily without leaving things to pile up for the next day. And, to put the company’s interests first before personal interests, as when the company succeeds, it will translate to personal success for everyone.

Connections At Work

We spend more time with coworkers than most other people in our lives, so it only makes sense to actually get to know them. And no, this doesn’t mean forced fun or oversharing - it means learning how to connect, human to human. When we understand the people we work with, the company becomes more than just a place to work - it becomes a space where trust, respect, and collaboration thrive. Here are 3 ways to build better connections at work:

1. Small Talk, Big Impact: You’d be surprised how far a ‘How was your weekend?’ can go. Light, casual conversations, even if brief, help people feel seen and acknowledged. You don’t need to become best friends, but simply showing interest in your colleagues’ lives outside of work makes the office feel more human and less transactional.

2. Find Common Ground: You won’t connect with everyone in the same way, but there’s usually something that connects us - a shared interest, similar work ethic, or even a mutual frustration. Discovering that common thread makes collaboration smoother and work more enjoyable. It also breaks down barriers that often cause tension or miscommunication.

3. Respect Differences: You’re not meant to agree with or relate to everyone, and that’s okay. The goal isn’t uniformity; it’s mutual respect. Different backgrounds, personalities, and perspectives are what make a team stronger. Instead of avoiding those you find different, try learning from them. You might gain a new outlook – or at least learn how to work more effectively with them.

A better company culture doesn’t come from policies or slogans; it comes from people. And the more we make an effort to understand each other, the better the ambiance becomes for all.

The best team is not the team with the best players, but the team that plays best together.
